in today’s world, with as much ridicule as it has received, do people who have them still think the mullet is a good look? honestly. do they not look in the mirror and see what the rest of the world sees? do they check themselves out and think “damn my hair looks good!” it’s strange.

second thought:

“Am I wrong for wanting to win? … Anyone who doesn’t understand that, then I apologize. I’m sorry. But I’ve got to do what’s best for me. I’ve got to move on with my life.”
— Miami’s Alonzo Mourning, defending the path he took to get from New Jersey to Toronto to title contention with the Heat.

okay, i know that sports is about winning first and foremost. as herm edwards said, “you play to win the game!” and i understand that winning a championship is the biggest thing in sports. but with all these athletes employing suspect means to get traded, to get new contracts, etc, how come they never talk about “being a man.” look, i know that teams don’t really have a vested interest in the players, only the business end of it. but still, every time you hear of an athlete doing something wrong they always say “i’m a man, i can own up to my mistakes” and all that type of rhetoric. but where is this talk of being a man about honoring your commitments?
