does crime really pay?
New York Daily News - Home - Student is fried in fraud
i mean other than a bad image, not being known as trustworthy, etc. isn’t this kid a little admirable? i mean a $43 million bank fraud scheme that worked, for at least a little bit of the time. you know, you read stories of stupid criminals versus “smart” in a like 1832482374982374 to 1 ratio. but aren’t the smart ones a little neat? isn’t that why we like criminal masterminds in movies a little? who hasn’t watched a bank heist movie and considered how they would do it? some of these criminals are pretty bright. it’s a what-would-you-be-capable-of-if-you-used-your-powers-for-good scenario.
the most obvious comments about this story, of course, would be the kid’s dismay that he would miss his graduation ceremony. not, you know, things like criminal charges.
