throwin’ a little shakespeare around this morning. bluray v hddvd, back on. all those talks about unifiying a standard was crap. each side basically said to unify the other side basically had to die. now with talk of two competing standards for the same thing on shelves at the same time. regardless of which standard is techincally superior (bluray), it’s going to come down to 2 things: (1) which movies are on what standard and (2) pricing of equipment and movies. even in the all digital tv age and the rise of HD, not enough people are going to have good enough equipment or want to pay for the best, so as usual, whatever’s cheaper will probably win.

so sad. not that it beat out coldplay, who while overhyped i still like, but that a ringtone was released as a single and will top the charts.

CNN.com - More mystery, few answers on ‘Lost’ finale - May 26, 2005

my first thought when reading this article was how they took time to name characters, either by character name and actor in parentheses OR actor name, character description and name in parentheses. EXCEPT evangeline lilly. her character name is omitted, just a description of her as a “dishy jailbird.” they also use the term “fat guy,” which while true, come on.

my second thought would be i don’t think the person who wrote the article watches the show regularly. the article talks about the:

promised glimpse of the polar bear-like creature that, since the premiere, has stalked the castaways, but until now was never really seen (at least by viewers). But on the finale it was almost an embedded joke, appearing in one drawing of a comic book Hurley was seen reading on the plane.

umm, no the polar bear was shot and killed. it was apparently manifested by walt who was reading the comic book with the polar bear in it. (btw, nice touch for it to be hurley’s comic, bc it was in spanish). the “monster” that has been “stalking” (it hasn’t stalked them at all) is not the polar bear.
