World’s Most Expensive Watches 2005 - Forbes.com

I don’t know as much about watches as I used to/should (I won’t start my crazy research of them until I can actually afford to own them), but I don’t think I could ever bring myself to get even the cheapest watch on this list. No matter how rich I was.

Hmm, doughnut style or not, I think they look nice. But seriously, 8 people 10 hours to make 1 medal?

ESPN.com: Page 2 : A Turkey Day edition of truths

“It don’t matter who did what to whom. Fact is, we went to war an’ now there ain’t no goin’ back … if it’s a lie, then we fight on the lie. But we gotta fight.”

This is a line from Jason Whitlock’s column on Page 2 of ESPN.com. It’s referring to the feud between Donovan McNabb and Terrell Owens, likening it to the HBO show the wire. (He also compared it to Ralph Tresvant versus Bobby Brown, New Edition era). At any rate, this line is how I feel about the conflict in Iraq (for one reason or another, I refuse to call it a war). We might not be there for the right, or even real/truthful/factual, reasons, but we are there now and are in it, can’t just up and leave. I think if the USA pulled out now, Iraq would just turn to absolute nothingness (kind of how Somalia did after the US pulled out).

I don’t care that she was on sleeping pills and alcohol and as such not in her right mind, hell she’s stupid enough for taking sleeping pills and alcohol. People are just stupid. Is this what evolution is doing? Doesn’t it seem like there is a divide now, only smart people and only stupid people? Craziness!

Merrick Pet Foods - Pet Foods

this isn’t the most expensive dog food, but it isn’t cheap and it seems very high class for dog food. Maybe on Thanksgiving I’ll give Monty a little bit of turkey or something. I do not give him table scraps of any kind at all, but maybe, just maybe for the holiday. Actually, this Thanksgiving (truth be told I forget the actual day) will be one year with my dog. Well not actually, I was dogless for about 2 months right after moving from Texas.

putting literary texts in “txt” languages for study aids? no. ridiculous, like we should really cater to the continuing idiocy of the youth. though i say that as i type with no capitalization. (=

What Lurks in Its Soul?

you might need to register to view the article (or use a bugmenot), but more than the interesting google stuff, what picques my interest is the google life. the three free squares a day, the dental/medical center, the free time, the “fun” stuff, the wifi buses… it’s like the whole blackberry thing. is the world moving to a non-stop work environment? is there soon coming a time when people are never not working? is this a desirable thing? or do the blurring of the lines make it okay to work that much because you have perks to make it more tolerable? i don’t think, as much as i would love my dream job (whatever it is), i’d want to be tethered to it 90% of my day.

there’s also an article in the nytimes (i’ll post a link, if i bother to go back and find it) about how a lot of people are having meetings at the gym now (rather than dinner and drinks) because it’s healthier, etc, but it’s just another example of work encroaching on another personal time.

i’d NEVER be able to fill it. a terabyte? truthfully, unless it had hd dvr capabilities, i’d rather have other things than ungodly amounts of storage (or i could move to all AL formatted music).
